can a current W&M student answer this

Can someone currently attending W&M tell me about the make up of the student body. I am curious as to how many/ proportion of students are from urban areas? Thanks!

yea and how many percentage of int'l students?

Call the admissions office for a breakdown. Probably not a high percentage of international students.............uhhhh, it's the USA. Most colleges and universities in the United States would have a rather low international student population. How about how many US students go to college in Asia..............think about this question? This is bizarre. Who cares? The amount will be low...........as it should be. This is the United States.

I don't have any exact statistics, but it depends on how you define urban areas. I'd say most of the student body is from suburban areas (especially the DC suburbs), but there are some people from actual cities.

There are a good number of "international" students, but a lot of them are just people who lived in the US before college but haven't gotten green cards yet. Most of them that I know are from Asia.

Thanks Malvenuto, I was just curious if WM attracted a lot of people from urban areas and how they adjusted to Williamsburg as a whole.

I have no idea about urban areas... that is a question I haven't heard before. As far as urban being downtown DC, NYC, Boston, Chicago, Atlanta... there are probably not that many. I mean, there are probably not that many people from truly urban high schools at colleges the level of W&M. I would guess that most W&M students come from suburban backgrounds. Huge number from the DC Metro Area, and a fair number from north Jersey and Long Island and Philly suburbs. Obviously, Williamsburg is not an urban location, and many things to do are confined to campus, but there is other stuff to do around. Also you can fairly quickly get to Richmond or Virginia Beach.
