I have a part-time job, only 16 years old, want to be independant and apply my financial aids on my own, not claiming tax dedution from my parents. Is that way I can get more grants? My parents' income over $200,000 per year. Please give me some suggestion on this plan? Thanks

You can’t do that, sorry.

Can you tell me why?

For the reasons posted in the exact same thread you posted in the FA forum. The rules don’t allow it until you are 24. Tax deductions don’t matter. Your parents income WILL be used and at $200,000 you will not receive aid FA anywhere except for the $5,500 Direct Loan.
