Can anyone tell me how much any of the following schools take into account demonstrated interest?

I’m asking partly because I want to know and partly because I’m sure many others are wondering it. Here’s a list of some schools to which I feel like a lot of people here are applying. So, if anyone can give some anecdotal or quoted evidence, and then rank the importance from 1 to 5 that you demonstrate interest in any of these schools, that would be very helpful. Thanks in advance!

Demonstrated interest is pretty important for UChicago. They make you write a whole essay on why you want to come to UChicago and expect genuine interest.

@maaz97 - Thanks! Do you know of any indication that they consider visits and phone calls, as well? Or is this based only on the supplemental prompt?

@Anonymoose3 Not sure if they consider visits and phone calls. They really look for people who can fit into their culture. This can be demonstrated through your essays (all essays, not just the “Why Uchicago” essay).

Just look up the Common Data Set for each school to find your answer

Section C7 specifically.

Or the colleges’ entries on collegedata.com .

I would check the common data set of each school.
