Can anyone tell me how to..

write a thank you letter? I asked my teacher in October and she already sent in all the recommendations (at least I hope so). How to I write one? Do I type it or handwrite it? What type of paper should it be on? What should I say on it? When should I give it to her (she's going on maternity leave in Dec)? Should I also get her a gift? Also, are there any old threads that say how to write thank you letters?

Thanks for helping me out here! I'm not sure how to do this :P

Anyone have any suggestions?

I think a nice handwritten letter that says something about how she personally helped you learn, etc. I’d do it ASAP. Teachers get so few of these that they treasure them.

Anyone have an example? I need to write mine…

short, sweet and with something personal about that particular teacher, as opposed to just a generic thank you
