Can high test scores help in admission?

Since they are test optional, does this mean they care less if you got high standardized test scores? I got a 33 on the ACT and I'm wondering if this will help me at all. I'd love to go to Pitzer I am just scared about getting in and with enough financial aid.

Also, how strong are the sciences at Pitzer? I know they get combined with CMC and Scripps but I am wondering if the Keck program provides good opportunities.

A 33 on the ACT will help with admissions at any school, including Pitzer. That being said, Pitzer does place more emphasis on your academic record. But with a 33 on the ACT one would assume you are also on par academically.
If you manage to be accepted, Pitzer meets 100% of demonstrated need, so I wouldn’t worry about that part just yet and you can always negotiate.
The strength of the sciences at Pitzer has been discussed frequently on this forum, read through them, I’ll leave you with a simple answer that yes, they are very strong and provide several fantastic research oppertunies and preparation for future endeavors.
