Probably a stupid question but my son has submitted 9 apps and he did not check the box that we would be applying for financial aid because I don't know that we would qualify and for some of the schools, they are relatively affordable. However, now that I've seen some of the school's fees, I think I might want to give it a whirl. Any advice on whether I can still apply???? Thanks in advance...

I would suggest you contact the schools and ask them to change this item on your son’s application.

^^^ Agreed, but I would ask your son to contact the schools and ask them to change this item.

Yes, you can. Your son should let admissions know even as you and he start getting the required PINs for parent and student so that the family can get the financial aid process going. The way it usually works is that the Admissions Office will let Financial Aid know who is accepted, which then gets the gears moving in that department in putting together a package. Financial AId does NOT calcualte packages for everyone for whom the paper work arrives–only for those admitted. So the Admissions Office needs to know or there could be no movement.

You do need to contact the schools NOW because some colleges are need aware in admissions.
