Can I apply for direct phD after undergrad in microbiology?

I am a microbiology student from Bangladesh and I really want to know if i can apply for phD in related subject after
I finish. Can you suggest some colleges in USA and Canada with such programs please? Thank you

Is it possible for you to do so? Yes. Most PhD programs admit students with an MS directly from undergrad.

Can you do it? That depends. You need to have research experience as an undergrad (at least 2 years, usually volunteering in a professor’s lab), great grades, good GRE scores, excellent letters of recommendation from 3 professors, and a strong idea of the kind of research you want to do with a well-written statement of purpose that describes your fit in those departments you apply to.

There are dozens of PhD programs in the U.S. and Canada that offer the opportunity for you to study microbiology, and dozens more in potentially related fields like immunology, virology, biomedical science, etc. However, you have to pick programs based upon your research interests. What part of microbiology do you want to study? Do you have specific research interests? Are you interested in related programs that might not be bio, like biomedical science or biochemistry or something? Answering some of those questions will help people suggest programs.
