can I apply for merit-based scholarship after being accepted?

Hello guys
Well… my question is pretty straightforward
any comments?

Yes, you can. Once you are accepted and decide to go to Obie, you will be automatically applied to need-based scholarships and merit-based scholarships. The former are reevaluated each year, but the ladder is just once (incoming freshmen year) and you get that amount of money throughout your four years. I had the same question, so I asked my admission officer when I was in Oberlin last week. Don’t expect much though because Obie meets 100% of need-based aid, they won’t have much money to give out for merit-based stuff. Check the 2015 Common Data Set for more information here: http://oberlin.edu/instres/irhome/www/cds/2015/
Oh wow, this actually says Oberlin has $14,698,082 to spend for non-need merit-based aid, I really hope that means I’m eligible. I’d check with external scholarships too, though, because you really don’t know what hand you’re gonna be played. Hope to see you at Orientation when, fingers crossed, we both get in!

The answer to your question is no. If you are accepted, you will automatically be considered for merit-based aid. There is no application.
