Does anyone know if I can change my Early Action application to Single Choice Early Action? Unfortunately, I submitted my app when I wasn’t too sure about making Baylor my first choice

It is my understanding that you can.

I know you can at SMU because my son applied regular admission there and they can’t stop hounding him about “upgrading” that to early decision. Since he applied SCEA though he has promised Baylor he wouldn’t do that, so he isn’t.

Honestly though, the answer to that question is an easy phone call away.

(254) 710-3435

Call them tomorrow during business hours (or have a parent do it for you if your school schedule conflicts) and ask an admission counselor.

When you get the answer, be sure to post it here so the next person will know for sure!

Thank you so much! I will give them a call tomorrow afternoon!

Speaking of SMU, what were your son’s reasons for choosing Baylor over SMU? Before I decided to make Baylor my first choice, I really liked SMU to the point where I was going to apply Early Decision but I changed my mind last minute.

While he is not naive at all about the variety of opinions, beliefs, and behaviors he will encounter, it is fair to say that on balance it is more conservative and more religious than SMU. He found that appealing.

That is why Baylor got the SCEA app and SMU got the regular one.

That’s great! Have y’all visited Baylor yet? Beautiful campus

We have: One impromptu visit and one official visit.

We are going down next week for the “Invitation to Excellence” program.

The week after that we are coming down for the homecoming game and also to go to a 5 on 5 ultimate frisbee tournament put on by Baylor Club Ultimate. My son loves the game, and he also started a business selling discs (www.allstardiscs.com) and his company will be a tournament sponsor.

Just got off the phone with an admissions rep. You may change your application from EA to SCEA for anyone who wants to know in the future!

Thanks for coming back to clarify.

Did you go ahead and change to SCEA, or are you still thinking about it? Best of luck either way!

I went ahead and changed it to SCEA. Hopefully I’ll get accepted! Thanks again!
