Can I do an alumni interview even after I submit my app? Will it hurt me?

<p>So say I submit my app already, and don't do the interview essay. CMU's website says I can do interviews until Feb 1, even though their app is due Jan 1. Will the interview still help my app even if I do an interview mid-January, and NOT write the essay?</p>

<p>it definitely won’t hurt you. whether the interview helps much at ALL — regardless of when you do it — is very unclear to be honest. do it. I’m pretty sure i did mine after jan 1. (edit: and i’m a current student)</p>
