Can I get a teaching Job with a Early Childhood Education Minor?

Right now im on my path to getting a bachelors in Graphic Design but would also like to teach k-3. Its something that ive been thinking about for a while. I know most would require that you have a bachelors degree, but would it be possible with just a minor(taken in account that i would be doing mentor programs as part of the minor) If not what would be a good minor to complement graphic design that would be enough to get a job in.

Check with your school to see if the minor leads to initial certification - that is based on requirements from the state department of education where you are (or want to teach). Usually initial certification includes student teaching so sometimes hard to get that all in as minor - but your program may be set up that way. Go talk to department that offers the minor.

We really need a post on this sub to remind people to tell us their state. The rules vary from state to state. In New York, this would not work, but it might be different in yours.
