Hello, I am currently a Junior living in St. Louis, Missouri. I have family members in Boulder and I absolutely love this college. I am not yet sure if I am going here or to Mizzou, but I want both to be open to me as an option.

I currently have a 3.4 weighted, 3.3 unweighted GPA, but it will definitely rise before I graduate. I got a 27 on the ACT on my first try (am thinking of taking it again for a higher score) and have not yet taken the SAT (am going to soon). I will be in the music program all four years, specifically Marching Band for two of those four years and A LOT of community service (it feels like more than it probably is since I've had to do it all, haha).

My main concern is that I only have two years of foreign language. Does this significantly hurt my chances? I could take Spanish 3 to get the third, but I finished Spanish 2 as a Freshman and hated it, so I will have missed two years of no Spanish exposure.

You’ll probably be okay. Don’t worry about the third year of Spanish. It will be noted as a deficiency and you will be required to make it up once you get to Boulder. Apply in September so you can hear early. Several of us at my school who applied in November are still waiting…

Thank you so much, you have no idea how comforting that is to hear. Let me know if you get in, I’m hoping you do. Best of luck.

I’m thinking of maybe doing Latin I next year, it won’t satisfy the requirement, but it will surely look better than nothing for that area.

I was accepted 2 days ago. I only took 2 years of french, i had a cumulative 3.57 and my SAT was 2200. i feel like they count SAT way more than anything else. I wouldn’t worry about your spanish. as long as you have all the other requirements, you’re good.

my friend got in with a GPA of 3.0 and an sat score around 1450 so I know you should be just fine. I wouldn’t stress if I were you!
