Can I get into an Ivy or as good a school with straight B's Freshman Year? I didnt get any other B's the rest of HS. Can I still get it since I had this upward trend? My overall GPA is still high. Do you know anyone who didnt get A's and got into an Ivy?

It depends in what Ivy school you want to go to. For example, I want to go to Princeton, but they won’t look at my freshman grades. >_<

I know plenty of people who were accepted at Ivy schools with straight B’s and even some C’s. Don’t let the robots on this site tell you that you need an almost perfect GPA to get into the top schools.

^ That may be true but anecdotes < data.

Check any of the schools data sets and admissions rates always increase with better scores and better GPA. It’s not that someone with a low GPA will always be rejected but a higher GPA always helps. Straight A’s are not required but they do help.

OP, your upward trend sounds great and you have a shot at the Ivys… just like many other people.

Best of luck!
