Can I Get Into Carnegie Mellon?

<p>I'm currently a sophomore in high school and I want to know if I'm on the right track so far. I really want to go to Carnegie Mellon School of Drama. I haven't taken my SAT or ACT yet, and I know those scores are critical and I'll post them once I get the chance to take them and receive my results. Here's what I have so far:</p>

<p>I also participate in all of the school musicals as well as a few community theatre productions over the years. I take acting classes in the city, and this winter I will be co-founding our school's first drama club. I also take guitar lessons outside of school.</p>

<p>Community Service: Working progress. I'm in the process setting up times and dates to tutor another student and I'm working volunteer hours for the band and possibly the animal shelter. By the time I graduate I will have at least 60 hours. (Probably more)</p>

<p>Special Awards: Working progress. I've received multiple awards in the visual arts in our local arts festival when I was a bit younger and I've won a local poetry contest. I'm currently working on achieving more.</p>

<p>MT and Theater are two of the most involved college admissions processes, becaues MT/Theater programs are highly selective, and as you may know, the Acting/MT BFA at CM is one of the most selective programs in the country.</p>

<p>I highly suggest you read [Musical</a> Theater Major - College Confidential](<a href=“http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/musical-theater-major/]Musical”>Musical Theater Major - College Confidential Forums) and [Theater/Drama</a> Majors - College Confidential](<a href=“http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/theater-drama-majors/]Theater/Drama”>Theater/Drama Majors - College Confidential Forums) to get an idea of what you’ll need in terms of monologues, auditions, preparation, etc. You have a lot of time, but be aware of what will be involved.</p>

<p>Thank you! I actually have taken a look through the audition process, so the thought will be wondering around the back of my mind when I find a monologue or song I really like. </p>
