Can i get into Cornell with no research experience?

My test scores and GPA are all adequate for Cornell standards, and it appears my extracurriculars are also good according to what you guys say. However, my research plans this summer have fallen through which I’m really disappointed about. A pharmaceutical company I had plans with said that I cannot do research with them just today which is very abrupt because they should have told me earlier…

Anyways, they’re still letting my do a month and a half long internship at the company, but I can’t do research. Will this hurt me? All of my friends who got into Cornell CAS had research experience, such as at colleges or something, so I feel behind.

Don’t worry about it. You don’t need research experience to get into any college.

If really want to research though, try emailing lots of professors at nearby colleges. I’m sure you’ll find someone who is willing to let you work with them.

@GotoRo Thanks for replying! See, I would because PennState, Temple, and other colleges are nearby. But I’m not sure if it’s too late to ask to volunteer at the labs

Definitely not. I had good SATs and grades and had a few extracurriculars, but never even dabbled in research and got into CoE

Research would be a help but in no way necessary.
