I’ve been reading over the results for Cornell ED and I realized that I don’t have close to as many extracurriculars that everyone else does. I thought what I had was fine but everyone else seems to have way more than me. Anyway I have good grades and SAT (4.0 and 1570) and a good amount of APs and my essays and recs are all pretty good to decent and I’m legacy. But I only listed six extracurriculars on my Common App:
- Secretary of Quizbowl Club
- NHS
- Tutoring Job
- Student poll worker, which is a student program where you work elections, also a job
- Member of American Numismatic Association
- Helped prepare Chemistry lab in school
I may be overreacting but I feel like this isn’t enough compared to everyone else who applied to Cornell. Everyone else have leadership positions in a bunch of clubs and have 200+ community service hours. Meanwhile I don’t really have any community service, unless you count NHS as community service, and a lot of them are out of school. I’m hoping my grades and the fact that I’m legacy still gets me in but I’m just stressed about it. So is this worth worrying over or are my extracurriculars not really that bad?
