Can I get into cornell?

Hey guys I appreciate you looking at my post as I really need some help here. I'm a junior in hs and realized this past year that my high school grades as of yet weren't matching my career aspirations. I've been looking into colleges and really like cornell (economics). However, I'm not quite sure I'd even be a competitive cantidate to get in. Ill break down my grades by semester so far. (All uw)
Freshman: s1- 3.5 s2- 3.71
Sophomore s1- 3.66 s2- 3.85
Junior. s1- 3.83 s2- ongoing
I know I sound pretty typical, but I honestly think ill get a 4 this next semester. However, I won't be taking any ap's until senior year, when ill be taking 4 (Spanish, gov, econ, physics) . I show an upward trend, which I know is looked highly upon. I haven't yet taken act or sat, but am anticipating a 33 ish and 2100 ish type score. I can get very good recs, including one from a previous cornell professor if that means anything. I am involved in quite a few ec's, and will be a soccer captain next year. I know it's tough to tell, but do you think I'd be a competitive cantidate and if not is there anything I can do now to raise my chances? Also, what do you think about georgetown, wash u St. Louis, umich, and rice? However, cornell is my fav by far. Thanks a lot!

Personally I was waitlisted at both Rice and Cornell with significantly better stats.

Finish your year, take the SAT/ACT, and ask again then. People have certainly gotten in with lower GPAs but it’s not easy.

Ok thanks would that rec letter from a former prof make a difference?
