If you took 18 AP classes and have only a 4.36 that means you have taken 50 classes total thus far. That seems like a lot. How does this work exactly?
I suspect you may have miscalculated.

I should clarify: I took 13 classes and 18 tests(I self-studied AB Calc, Micro Econ, Macro Econ, Comparative Gov and Pol, and Human Geo). I take 9 classes a year, each normal class is worth 4, and each AP class is worth 5(if I get an A). 135 + 423 = 157, 157/36 = 4.36.
So if youâve already got grades for four years of courses, that means youâve graduated already. Are you in a gap year?
Wow you still had time to do all the ECs with all the self study and taking DE- I would be cautiously suspicious if I were a reviewer and would think you spent much more time on your academics and not so much on anything else. When would you get any sleep? Schools who have doubts also check on ECs to see how much you were involved in them.
I am not in a gap year right now. I am in my senior year. My school gives grades like this: We have 4 terms and 2 semesters. The term grades go into the semester grades, and the first semester is almost over and we have the first term grades, so assuming I donât do something like stop doing assignments my grades shouldnât change.
What is DE-?
You mentioned AA so thought that you were dually enrolled - but realize maybe you were homeschooled? If homeschooled then I think these impressive academic endeavors with ECs seem possible.
SoâŠhave you already applied to all of these colleges?
I am not home schooled. I go to a public high school.
Which classes are you taking right now at your high school?
Did you alread finish all of the AP tests that you listed, or are some of the 5 scores also predicted?
Yes.
I am taking AP English Lang, AP gov and pol, AP spanish lang, Business law(elective), Marketing applications(elective), and 4 dual credit college classes. I have taken a bunch of practice tests for these AP tests and I am pretty sure I will get 5âs, but after reading some other peoples posts, I realize that colleges wonât see these 3 test scores in my application.
Which dual credit college classes are you taking? It helps to understand your senior schedule (if you are taking a math class each year, etc).
This semester: Econ 201, Math 126, Sociology 101, Psychology 101
What I plan for next semester: Econ 202, Math 155, Accounting 202, Stats 211
Are they online, or night classes or something? How do you manage to attend all those classes along with 5 classes at your high school?
I just leave school and go to the classes because it takes like 2 minutes to walk to the campus.
This is a list where your acceptances could go either way. Most of these have VERY low acceptance percentages. UT Austin has higher acceptance, but it doesnât sound like you are instate for Texas.
SoâŠare these just your reach schoolsâŠ.and you have others where your acceptance is more likely?
As noted aboveâŠyou could get accepted to all, some, or none.
Your accomplishments are terrificâŠbut keep in mind that the vast majority of applicants to these colleges listed also have terrific admissions accomplishments.
Good luckâŠand do keep us posted.
Thank you! Yes, these are just my reach schools, I do have safeties and targets.
What I am seeing is someone who is really, really, really good at taking tests: including SATs and APs. I think thta piling on in this direction 'Iâve self-studied and still got 5âs!@" is unlkely to help.
You need to work on other aspects - your âmediocreâ essays, your LORs, and ECâs that do not revolve around academics. Strengthening the weaker parts of your app will go farther than further strengthening the stronger parts.
Would DECA be an EC that revolves around academics?
