Can I get into U of M?

Alright, I'm finishing up my junior year and the time for college application is quickly approaching and I'm curious to know if I can get into U of M. From browsing their website I saw that the average GPA was around a 3.78 and an average ACT score of about 28. Personally I'd like to study chemical engineering with a minor in either biochemistry or computer science. My GPA is a 3.85 weighted, but after finishing this final quarter (I did very well) will probably finish with a cumulative GPA of around a 3.9. I am in the top ten percent of my grade and will have taken over half the AP classes my school offers. However, my ACT score was slightly below average with a score of 27 composite. I received a 30 on reading, 28 on science, 27 on math, 24 on English, and an 8 on the writing. However, I am being tutored in ACT prep and I'm retaking the test in early June. During my junior year I took AP chem, AP European history, honors Brit lit, Spanish 3, pre-calculus, and government / econ. Next year I plan to take AP calc BC, AP physics B, AP lit, AP biology, Spanish 4, and two art electives. I may drop Spanish 4 in place of AP psych but I'm not sure (5 APs is alot). In terms of extracurricular I'm a member of NHS, part of student committee, an after school tutor, a member of the BKOM program (they assist incoming freshmen and new student in getting acclimated to the school). I have ran track since freshmen year and will run track next year as well. I have played basketball Freshmen and Junior year (I transferred my sophomore year to a new school and couldn't try out) and I will play my senior year. I have a job where I work on designing databases for websites and domain hosting. I am involved with my church as well. I am white, but my Dad does not have a college degree but my Mom does. My parents make around 75,000-90,000 a year (I'm not sure, they own their own business so its hard to tell). I'm a Mi resident and I live around twenty minutes out of Ann Arbor. I understand U of M is the most competitive college in the state and am looking into other colleges. However, it is a goal of mine to get into the most competitive college in the state but I will not be heartbroken if I don't. If you have any insight that would be great! Thanks

UMI: Reach?

First of all, since you are in state, there is really no reason not to apply. However, your data are outdated. For 2012, the average admission GPA was 3.83 and mid 50% ACT was 29-33 with an average of 31. Your GPA is around average while your ACT is far below the average and even below the 25%. FYI, the mid 50% SAT was 1990-2230 with an average around 2100. You still have time to bring up your ACT score. Did you go to the college fair at Pioneer last month? I got UMich’s latest admission stat there. For engineering, you do need even higher score and GPA. Also, your Math score is rather low for engineering too. You may want to take Chem and Math2 subject tests if you have not done so. Chemical engineering is probably less competitive within CoE, however, you need to be first got admitted to CoE.
Mark on your calender that there will be a TechDay on 9/28. You will get more information about the engineering programs there and have a chance to meet with people from the admission and financial aid offices. Registration will begin in summer.
As of now, it looks like a reach for you.

For the future, different formatting makes it way easier to read quickly.

If it is UM Ann Arbor i’d say reach.
From my school ( Which has had 40 people get accepted in 4 years) The average GPA was 4.02 and the SAT Score 2120.
You’re slightly below that in all aspects and applying to engineering. If you raise the test scores you have a much better shot.
