So here’s the dilemma… I have recently picked up a serious interest for biomedical engineering. The problem is in high school I didn’t take advanced math classes or anything relating to calc. I only took bio and I didn’t take physics or chem. I love bio I find it very interesting. Is there anyway I can pursue this potential interest of mine and be successful in this field. I am a freshman right now and I haven’t taken any labs yet so if I decide to pursue this career choice I would have to start immediately
You are a freshman in college? Most colleges require 3 years of science for admission to any program.
I took three years of science in high school. I took forensic science, biology, physical science, and freshwater science
You can start from beginning with these classes:
Calculus I, Calculus II, Calculus III (for math/engineering majors).
You may need to start with College Algebra first.
Mechanics (for engineering/physics majors), Electricity & Electromagnetism (for engineering/physics majors)
Chemistry (for engineering/chemistry majors)
Biology (for biology major)
If you do well in most of these classes then you can be in biomedical engineering. You probably need 5 years to graduate.
