Obviously taking AP classes in history, government etc can help, but I’m curious as to finding out what I can do outside of school that could get me well prepared.
Perhaps internships? If I want to do well on the LSATs could I possibly prepare for them now?
I’d say that it is a little premature to prepare for the LSAT now… although internships at a law firm can’t hurt.
Are any of your parents lawyers? I’m asking because with few exceptions, kids whose parents were lawyers generally end up at the top of the class and law review, so to some, you begin your career in a crib!
Get a Black’s law dictionary and use it. Look up everyday words to see how the legal approach to them differs from the common interpretation.
Please ignore the above two posters and listen to Catria. Spend some time learning what the practice of law is actually like. See if it’s something you would enjoy doing every day. Then, if you like what you see, focus on getting good grades in college. You can worry about the LSAT your senior year/after you graduate.
Please ignore the above poster who has no idea what she’s talking about. Talk with real attorneys who went to top law schools to determine whether the law is a good fit for you.
