I am starting University in the Fall as a pre-med biology major and I want to review some chemistry because I totally forgot everything from two years ago.
I want to buy the textbook Chemistry: The Central Science by Brown, Lemay, and Bursten 8th edition. This is a really old edition from 1999, but I can get it on amazon for $2. So I was wondering if this textbook is too old to use and will misinform me or is it alright to use just to study and get ahead during the summer? Thanks.

You’ll be fine.

Chemistry fundamentals aren’t too far from what they were 14 years ago.

You should be taking general chemistry classes in your first year anyway. Might as well get the same textbook you’ll be using for your classes.
