Can I use my supplement essay as my personal statement??!

<p>I wrote my personal statement a while ago and am now working on my supplements. After writing one of the UVA supplement essays, I realized I like it a lot more than my personal statement, and that it's much more powerful</p>

<p>So my question is.. could I just select option 6 (topic of your choice) on the common app and make my topic UVA's supplement question? Obviously I would send my original personal statement to UVA. But to all of my other schools I would like to send my UVA supplement as a personal statement.. Would other colleges pick up on the fact that my topic is UVA's question?? </p>

<p>Well I guess go for it if you feel that the essay tell more about you than your other personal statement. I don’t think college admission would care too much if your essay is good and strong as you said. I know the UVA prompt is something like literature work, favorite word, and something else I cannot remember, but I think those topic are pretty generic (unless if you designed it specifically for UVA).</p>
