Can I use somehow my ethnic background?

I know that US colleges and universities care for diversity of their classes; I know as well that it's not the main factor considered in admission process. I'd like to make advantage of my citizenship, but colleges, I suppose, care about HOW can I contribute to the diversity of their class. This mean that I must be somehow related to my culture besides having the passport or the country.
How can I do that in short amount of time? I don't do any extracurriculars at all (especially related to my ethnic background) because I'm already an adult and work full time. I haven't participated in national dances club or anything related to the culture of my country. How can I prove to the colleges that I'm a folk who will contribute to ethnic diversity not only by the country of origin? By the way, what do they imply under "contribute to our diversity"? Couple of examples of such "contributions" would be helpful. Thx.

“Contribute to ethnic diversity” means that you will bring your unique perspective and point of view to classroom discussions, thus teaching those around that not everyone comes from the same place, has same viewpoints, values, etc etc.
That is all that is implied under that.
Now you just hope that a huge pool of people from the same country did not have the same idea and applied to the same set of colleges.

as far as I’ve known ethnic background it’s not the main factor considered in admission process.
