Will it be informal to write don't, won't, and didn't? For 650 word limit I'am not being able to write those words in full form.
Are you guys writing like this too? Or using full forms? Some people told me not to write like this.

lol i wrote don’t all over my essay but still got in?

Yes. Of course. I’ve seen essays of students accepted into prestigious colleges with contractions. :)

Yes, that’s what I thought! It is really hard to stay in the word limit if I write those in full form.

Write so that it sounds natural to you. Don’t use contractions or abbreviations that create an awkward or hard to read sentence just to save word count. But there is nothing wrong with using contractions or abbreviations that are easily understood.

A word of wisdom however, since you haven’t given a context for these contractions you want to use. Try to write in a positive voice as much as possible. Instead of saying “I don’t like peas and I can’t swim”, you will show yourself better to point out your strengths, “I do love carrots and I can jump!”

@VSGPeanut101 yes, you are right. I wrote my essay in positive voice also I didn’t used two contractions in one sentence.

I think the best essays are somewhat conversational in tone, not too stiff and formal. I think it is fine.

@intparent Thank you for making it clear.
