Can my admission be revoked?

Hi all,
I was wondering if my admission to Cal Poly Pomona could be revoked for dropping a class? When I applied, I was taking AP Spanish Literature but then realized it was too difficult for me and I dropped the class. I've been provisionally accepted and it has me worried...what should I do? Thanks for all answers!

Hi daisy – welcome to cc.

Here’s my advice.

Ask your GC whether you can be revoked.

If you’re not positive, call Cal Poly Pomona.

Generally, colleges reserve the right to revoke you if you drop courses. The thought is that the admission was based on what you represented your schedule was. In practice, I don’t think many would actually revoke you, unless you were a very borderline admit. However, YMMV, so best not to risk it.

I agree with zephyr15. Get with either the college or your GC directly.

I’d assume if you’d be able to explain the drop than it would be okay, but if they think you only added it in the first place to bolster your admissions chances, it would be looked upon negatively.
