Currently doing my APUSH summer work, (outlines on top of outlines) and they are starting to look really messy. Our teacher supplied us with an online version of the textbook, so I was wondering if she’d accept if my outlines are typed rather than handwritten? I find it is easier to absorb the important information from the textbook this way also, and nowhere in the summer packet it is stated that they cannot be typed. Did your APUSH teacher allow typed outlines, or only accepted handwritten ones?
It would be best to email your teacher see what he or she prefers.
I was thinking about emailing her, as her email is included in the summer packet, but was wondering if it’d give her the wrong impression or make her uncomfortable.
Just email her. If her email is included in the summer packet then she expects that people have questions. Be fairly professional about it, and you’ll give her an impression of a hard working student who is trying to go above and beyond.
On that note, my AP Euro teacher didn’t care if we typed them… but he didn’t care about much.
At my school, if you did the summer homework you were already ahead of the game. As long as it’s done, I can’t see any teacher really caring at all about written vs. typed.
My kids’ teachers didn’t allow typed outlines. That was to discourage copying them.
But there is no way any strangers on the internet can read your teacher’s mind. If you have any doubts about it, contact your teacher. This sort of thing should be specified in the assignment, so if it’s not and if you cannot get in touch with your teacher over the summer, it would be reasonable to assume that it’s allowed and go from there.
