Do you know what CGS is? From what I understand, it's that for science and engineering majors.

that's correct. the major difference is that SEP is far smaller than CGS

Basically, the SEP program is a 2 year "prep" program. Once you finish SEP, you move onto your main school (CAS) or (ENG) depending on your major for junior and senior year. BU want to build a solid foundation for you before you go to those schools...the only difference is that the calc class will be a little smaller. Keep in mind that if you do SEP, you can only major in something in science or engineering - they will give you a list of majors that you can choose from. that being said, some kids drop SEP and go to CGS and move on to another school and major in something not in science. SEP students are full-time students- it's just like everyone else. SEP is apart of the metropolitan college, but you don't actually take your classes in metropolitan college- you are with everyone in CAS or ENG ...depending on your major of course. Freshman year, there is a required summer class...but its only like 4 weeks and you can take it at any college(meaning you can take it at BU or you can take it at home at a local college). I will be doing SEP next year.

Let me know if you have any other questions about SEP.
