Ok on my Math section i got anywhere from 6-9 wrong with 7-8 Omitted/Wrong fill ins. Now I know that it is -.25 of a point if you get it wrong, but if you omit it, how does your score fluctuate? So say that is my score now what would it be if those omitted were counted as wrongs?

Uh.. omitting 4 would be -4 and guessing incorrectly on 4 would be -5.

But i thought you do not loose points for omitting?

ok,lets say u walk in, ur score is 0. u hv to get the correct answers in order to + ur score. u omit,u dont earn points.

so say I was to get 6 Wrong at approx 15 points each with the curve, I would get a 710 even though i omitted 9 questions?

Yeah. You get your score based on how many you get right. You start out from 0 and work your way up. You omit, your score stays the same, it doesn't go up. If you guess wrong, you lose points that you've gained.

edit - hi soccer! i'm stevenconqueso from the chat earlier :D

6 wrong and 9 omit is definitely not 710.

It's mid-high 570-610 range. Not completely sure...

where's the chat?!!

6 wrong 9 omit would probably be low 600s.. 14W 7O was 540 on jan08.

I was in the chat, you just invite yourself to cc math 2008 chatroom or something.... but I don't think its on right now, since most the problems have been disputed and discussed already.

I got 18 wrong and 3 Omitted in March and got a 540, then got 16 wrong and 7 omitt in june and got a 520.

Anyway I am pretty sure I got 8 wrong and 7-8 Omitted what would be my score? Hopefully a 600+?

I think i finally figured it out 8 wrong and 8 ommitted would be a 640? This is so confusing lol.

So i did 54-8(omitted)= 46

46x100=460
460+200=660
660-8(.25)=2
660-20=640?

8 wrong and 8 omitted would probably be 590-610.
9 Wrong and 4 omitted was a 630 in June.

3 wrong, 6 omit was a 680 on June08 math.

sccrdave, there's no true formula to figure out your exact score until you know the exact curve. you can use what you did to figure out a rough estimate of what your score would be.

June was considered a really hard test, and this one is generally considered fairly easy, so I doubt 8 wrong and 8 omit will be a 640. Closer to 600 probably.

if you omit one then you'll lose 1 question.
if you get it incorrectly then you'll lose 5/4 question.
