I'm an art student and I know they don't have studio art as a major at Hopkins, but lately I've been looking into art conservation and I'm very interested in it. I've looked it up, but haven't really found a lot of information about the program at Hopkins. So I was wondering if someone can give me a little more background on it. Is it like a combined major of art conservation and art history? How rigorous is the course? Any information about it would be appreciated, thanks!

There is no art conservation major at Hopkins; however, there is a very reputable History of Art program. From what I hear, many students also do internships, docent work and assistant curating in the school year with art museums in the local area in DC.

i’d suggest:

History of Art & Chemistry Double Major or any combination major/minor thereof.

good luck!
