Can subject tests make up for lower SAT scores?

Duh, I can’t add this morning. sorry. Practice does help. Good luck!

@Sportsman88 Ah gotcha. Yeah I’m a math/science guy. So I kinda need to take Math 2 for sure. Math 1 would look like a joke, especially since I’m going to be taking Multivariable Calculus next year.

For Duke science, you’ll have to take Math 2 for sure, even non-engineering majors at Duke will have Math 2. You should take the Math 2 in June right after your precalc-honors class ends. Then the material is fresh, if you’ve done well in the class, then you don’t have to study too much, just take the practice tests to get familiar with the format. That’s typically what most students do.

Sportsman88 - you’re right that a 750 in Math I is better than 650 in Math 2, since the Math2 average is 680-ish.

@theloniusmonk Thanks for the advice! Unfortunately I was planning on taking the regular SAT again in June, then Math 2 in August. I don’t think I should worry too much because we have a summer review assignment for AP Calc and I will definitely do practice tests as you suggested
