Can the Major Entrance Scholarship award increase?

Hi guys,

I received the Major Renewable Undergraduate Entrance Scholarship from McGill this year. According to the website, the award can be renewed for 3 years if I maintain a 3.7 GPA.

However, I was wondering if the actual award amount can be increased in subsequent years. Say I obtain a very good gpa at the university, is there a chance the scholarship office might increase the award from $3000 to $5000 or $10,000?

Also, how hard is it to maintain a >3.7 GPA at McGill? I'm a reasonably smart guy ;) I scored 1480/1600 in my SAT and 800 and 790 in Math II and Physics. I've always stood 1st or 2nd in my class (of 67 students) in India.

1). It will not increase. It’s going to stay the same. If you want anything else you need to qualify for in-course scholarships based ur CGPA etc. This is much harder to get than an entrance scholarship/award.

2). You’re SAT scores mean nothing when it comes to predicting how you’ll do. There have been people here with a near perfect SAT who ended up doing quite poorly.

3). A GPA of >3.7 is doable, depending on your major/courses etc. Though, not easy by any means.
