one of my friends told me she wants to get into nyu stern, which is my dream school but i kept it a secret from many people for a long time. even though her GPA is slightly higher than mine, i take more honors and AP classes than her. Last year, she took 4 and i took 5 and this year i take 6 she takes 5. I’m studying hard for the SAT because my goal is a 1500+. I also have more volunteering than her. I’m scared because I think she’s smarter than me so I don’t want to get rejected because she got in. I’m applying ED and I really want to go but she probably doesn’t want to go if she’ll have to pay FULL tutition but my parents are fine with paying full tuition.
My current GPA: 4.4
idk the specifics of your high school but yes two people can definitely get in. but you will drive yourself crazy comparing yourself to her from now until decision date!!
I mean I live like 45 minutes from NYC and one of my friend’s sister goes there rn and she’s around the same level as me but her mom is an alumni.
dont worry about others focus on your own application
Yeah, there’s nothing stopping it. They don’t have some random “hard quota” of 1 person per school. There’s even a chance that neither of you will go bc NYU Stern is a super competitive school that results in applicants having to be EXTREMELY competitive to even stand a chance. At this point, all you can do is focus on your own application.
