My GPA went from straight As and A+'s in Freshman and Sophomore year to all Bs and 2 C's in my Junior year. Granted I took 4 difficult AP's there negative trend is definitely attention grabbing.

I have a 2060 on my SAT. 650 on Math II SAT.

My EC includes

Speech and Debate = Captain, several awards *** 4 years
Model UN = Under-Secretary General (Vice President), several awards*** 4 years
Academic Competition = Captain, one recognition *** 4 years
Spanish NHS= Best Spanish Student of the Year award, Spanish Tutor *** 4 years
Rubik's Cube Speed Solving Club = President *** 3 years
English National Honor Society = President *** 1 year
Harry Potter Club = Ministry of Magic (President) *** 2 years
Piano lessons = Recital Lead *** 7 years

INOVA Hospital Volunteering = Volunteer (feeding, assistance, massages, etc) *** 3 years
Library Volunteering = Volunteer *** 1 year

My Common Application essay, and supplemental essay will be quirky, funny, unique.
I've gone in for an interview already which went well.
I'm submitting artwork as well.

Would applying early decision help me cover up my GPA and get in?

Early Decision makes it less competitive solely based on the fact that there are less applicants to compare you to. Nothing is covered up, as you say. In fact, I suggest that the admissions spend more time reviewing your application since there are far more to review. That said, it gives you an opportunity to shine - for example, your quirky, funny and unique essays
Concentrate on your positive attributes and what you can bring to the College. Kick butt first quarter - get those grades back up! Good luck!

oh okay thank you!

But can anyone chance me please based on this current set of information?

Could anyone else please chance me?

I’m working on improving my SAT as well. Would my chances be okay with Early Decision if I have a 3.9 GPA (weighted) along with 2100 SAT and bunch of ECs (and leadership) and a nice essay and optional submission and arts submission and interview (which I think went well)?

Chances are…you may get in, you may not. I know how stressful it is, but just do your very best - grades, testing, writing, etc. That’s all you can do. Complete the application and essays thoughtfully and proofread. Complete all optional submissions on time and follow the directions. Then submit it all. Then wait. In the meantime, always be open to other options…explore other schools. You may even apply to others. (If you get into W&M, you can withdraw other apps).

I know it is so difficult not knowing and waiting. But just do your best. You will find your path!

I’m in a similar position. I have a 3.9 GPA. 2150 on my SAT (700 Math 800 Critical Reading) and an 800 on my Biology SAT II. But I took no intensified classes until my junior year and I got plenty of B’s in some really easy classes until I got myself together junior year. I have been working at programs for kids with special needs for the past four years. I applied early decision. I am so anxious to hear back, only about two more weeks. I don’t know how I’ll make it all the way to April if I am deferred.

@gemgirl95 I feel you. I sincerely wish you the best of luck. This is gonna be a rough 2 weeks, and if we’re unlucky, an even rougher year.
