I’ve always been confused about this, and it may be scoffed at, but
Can you apply to schools in both EA and ED? Say if I were to apply to Georgetown and BC EA, could I apply to Cornell ED?
(sorry x-posted but I really need to know!)

Yes.. Only rule is that you can't apply more 1 ED..

But if you get in ED, u cannot go to your EA school...

You can apply to EA to as many schools as you want.. Its same as RD..

well...it depends on Georgetown's policy for EA. some schools have single choice EA.. i think gerogetown is single choice.. whihc means u can only do one EA school and no ED. (it's still non bidning though) u should read up on Georgetown's EA policy.

no siree bob

GT's EA policy precludes apps to any ED schools, but will allow apps to other EA schools.

about applying to more than one school EA, it depends on the schools' policies. For ex, MIT allows you to apply anywhere else EA as well, but Harvard is single choice early action.

In terms of ED - the point of ED is that this is your number one school. You KNOW you'll go there if you attend. That means it's unlikely that the ED school will allow you to apply anywhere else early.

If you apply early to two schools, are you really committed enough to your ED choice? Unless your EA is a backup...

Anyway, many ED policies allow applications to EA/rolling applications at state universities. Some ED schools, like Princeton, do not allow you to apply EA anywhere. However, I knew several people that applied ED to Columbia (most of them rejected) and EA to U Chicago. So...it really does change from school to school.
