Can you be not well-rounded enough?

So far my extracurriculars are:

  • Volunteer in the NICU
  • Intern at the American Cancer Society
  • Founded a nonprofit to connect patients with art
  • Independent cancer research
  • Founded HOSA club

Are these extracurriculars good enough for the ivy league and other competitive schools? Am I not well-rounded enough?

They are not looking for well rounded students, they are trying to put together a well rounded class. Maybe you’ll balance out someone who only has music ECs, or someone who only has sports.

Is there anything you can do about it now? It is what it is.

@twoinanddone I have time to change my application - I’m a sophomore

Bump

Well, if you feel you’d like to show another side of your activities to admissions, try some other things. There is no magic formula to get in, especially for ECs. Do what you like or what interests you.

You’re the manic writer of the “Tips on how to get into Harvard” thread. It’s clear you haven’t read the replies or don’t possess the faculties to process the information given to you.

Stop obsessing. The cold reality is you either ARE or ARE NOT the type of person who will be attractive to super selective schools.

Then leave CC for about 2 years. That’s my best advice for you.
