As the Title suggest, I was wondering if it's possible to switch your decision of Off-Campus to On-Campus Housing?

Originally I talked to a best friend to room together Off-Campus but now he changed his mind and decided not to go to UCSC so I wish I didn't put Off-Campus on my SIR.

Thanks in Advance.

Hello. This happened to me. When i filled out my SIR initially, I put on both my FAFSA and on the SIR that I wanted to live off campus. Im a transfer student and dont know a soul up there. I visited the campus and by the end of the day, so many people told me to live on campus and that I would be missing out on this or that if I didnt and its harder to meet people…so I caved. I ran over to the financial aid office before I left back to Socal and had them change my FAFSA and I emailed the Housing Department when I got back home. All I really had to do is include a letter with my intentions with $150 downpayment. Now, I am waiting for the housing application in June.

So considering I won’t be a transfer student, I have to change my FAFSA and email the Housing Department?

I already emailed the Housing Department about this and still waiting for a reply.
As for the FAFSA, turns out I already put On-Campus. lol

What exactly did you put in the letter? and Is it possible to pay the $150 later?

I emailed but if you dont hear back from them by next week, call. I just put in my letter that I initially planned to live off campus but my location at the time limited that (as well as I put something in there about me visiting the campus for Spring Spotlight and seeing the benefits of on-campus living)…and I told them that I was enclosing the 150 dollar check. I dont know if you can pay the 150 later or not as it is a downpayment. I didnt have it either so I borrowed it from my Dad until I can pay him back this summer. You can also call and ask if you can pay later. The emailed I had received from them told me to send it with a letter so thats what I did. : ) I hope this helps : )

Thank you so much. Also, I finally got a reply back from Housing so I’ll be getting a housing packet in the mail sometime soon.

Yay! That’s great!
