Canadian and UK Schools... Any Aid?

I'm going to be applying this fall and my mother and I are looking at a few UK schools (St. Andrews, Edinburgh, Strathclyde) and UBC (british columbia), of course along with US schools. I'm a 4.0 student unweighted (+ 4 AP's), 2000 SAT / 30 ACT student, but because I live with a single mom and she makes less than $30,000 a year, I'm definitely going to need aid.

Does anyone know if UK schools or UBC give any financial aid to international students (I'm Oregon, US)? And if they do, is it generous or modest? I don't want to apply if I know I can't get aid. Thanks

no -- no aid to US students attending UK schools. I understand that loans can be used (Stafford, don't know about others) but no grant money. Also -- most scholarships awarded in the US can only be used for US schools (check the fine print).

The costs of schools in the UK runs around $35,000 per year for 3 years. That figure is approximate -- and includes tuition, books, room and board, lodging over the break and transportation home to the US.
