Canadian Colleges?

Hi i am currently a high school Junior who inteneds to major in Business/Econ and i was wondering a few thing about colleges in Canada like (mainly UBC, UofTor, Mcgill, Queens):

  1. can anyone who has gone to one as an american transfer talk about their experience?
  2. will an american public school education prepare me well for Canadian college (UBC, Mcgill, U of Tor, Queens)
  3. Is grade deflation for business majors bad (for example Rotman)
  4. what are somethings that going to school in Canada will be different than America (for example the metric system)
  5. is it worth it for an american to go all the way up north?
  6. (finally) is the FINAL cost of going to school in Canada better/same as schools OOS in the US

thanks for the responses!

Thanks to the 72 cent Canadian dollar, a Canadian education can be a real bargain for American students.

Canadian students are expected to be more independent than American students. There’s no residence assistants. There’s very little career counselling.

The health care system is very different and can take some time getting used to. Class averages are generally B’s (70-79%) or C’s (60-69%). About 10% or fewer of students get a 3.7 GPA.

An American high school education should prepare you well in terms of background knowledge.

McGill’s residences have RA’s or dons as they are called.

The business faculties at those Canadian universities do have their own career counselors and placement offices, not available to students outside the business faculty.
