Canadians Intern in US, VISA?

Hello everyone

I am a full canadian citizen, but nothing else. This summer I will be interning in NY, and I was wondering what visa status should I get?

Can someone with a similar experience tell me what route they took?

Econgrad, its been some years since I had some exposure to this subject, but I believe it may be a J1 visa, if that is of any help.

Congrats on the internship in NYC!

in which company are you interning?

econgrad! You posted earlier that you were from Chicago. So you’re in fact Canadian. That explains a few things.

thanks for your help, I will definitely look into the J-1 visa.

hehe, tom what does it mean?

econgrad: When you posted that you were from Chicago, I assumed that you were a fellow American. Your frequent rants and denigratory comments about McGill, Quebec and Quebec students at McGill were embarrassing. Those types of comments usually come from a small number of out of province Canadian students, of which you are one.
