Can't decide between GATech and UMCP

Hi, I have recently narrowed my two college choices to Georgia Tech (Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, Georgia) and UMCP (University of Maryland, College Park).
Unfortunately, I can't decide between the two schools and some input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I want to pursue perhaps a double major in Engineering and Math. At GATech, this could take at least 5 years, whereas at CP it will take 4 years, because of AP credits.
GATech is in the top 5 in the country for engineering, however the math department at CP is better.
I am in the Gemstone Honors program at CP and also in the Honors College at Georgia Tech. Both will give me advanced opportunities to other classes, however there is a research component at Gemstone; at GATech, I will have to find my own research to get involved with.
I have received a scholarship to CP.
I really liked the campus at GATech when I visited, I liked it better than the loud, large campus at CP.
CP would be close to home, GATech will be out-of-state. A lot of people from my school will be at CP. => I am not so sure if this is a good thing or a bad thing right now.
The dorms at CP are... they didn't strike me as amazing. GATech freshman dorms aren't any better, but sophomore through graduation (they provide housing for all years) is much better.

Please, if anyone could offer advice, it would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you all so much in advance.
I didn't exactly like the dorms at

Sorry, ignore the “I didn’t exactly like the dorms at” part at the end. Typo.

hey, sorry to dig up this thread but i find myself in the same position as you now

Instate UMD vs Gtech

i was wondering which one you picked and why?

Bringing up old threads to get answers for the originators is rarely fruitful. The OP has not been on this site in years:

Can you afford both or will you have to take loans ? Georgia Tech is the better school for engineering but you might be forced to attend UMD-CP because its in-state and cheaper.
