I know they do not release financial aid packages until you are accepted.. so how exactly does this play into CAP?
I already requested my FAFSA be sent to my top two CAP school choices.. but my decision on which one to go to depends on how much aid each offers me. So how can I get this information without submitting by CAP agreement?

I work in financial aid at a CAP school. We will begin awarding admitted students (who submitted FAFSAs before March 31) in early April.
Unless you also applied for admission directly to the schools you are considering, you will need to submit the CAP contract so they’ll know to award you aid.

so there is no way to see how much would be awarded without first accepting the CAP contract? what I mean is… there is no way to compare the financial aid of two different cap schools?

You should probably contact the schools you are considering to find out their procedures. At my school, we only package admitted students.
You could always apply for admission directly to the schools (if their admissions deadlines haven’t passed) and they would award you based on their decisions. Once you have the award letters, you could then submit the CAP contract. That will cost you more in app. fees, but at least then you would be able to compare offers before committing to a school.
Be aware though, many scholarships and some grants are awarded after schools have your final transcript, so your award may change (for the better!) during the summer.
I encourage you to consider where you would fit best if you stayed. Only 1/3 of CAP students actually go to UT as sophomores. Some don’t make the grades, but many get so involved at their CAP schools that they decide to stay.
