Cap21 acceptance

So I am probably getting annoying with talking about Cap but my audition is coming up and I am getting more excited and nervous by the minute because I want it so much, so any advice on auditioning of anything would be so amazing. Also if anyone knows is it harder to get into the Cap 21 two year program or the molloy bfa?

I believe it’s the same. If they want you at one, they’d want you for the other–whichever you choose. At least, that’s the way it was for my D. With Molloy, you’d obviously have to be accepted academically, but it’s not a tough academic admit (75% admittance; ACT Composite 25th percentile/75th percentile: 22 / 26).

(Full disclosure: my D was homeschooled. Even though she had solid/high test scores and a high gpa, including from dual enrollment classes, Molloy accepted her under the condition that she take the ged. It’s extremely rare to require this; for example, they were the only school of 18 that D applied to that asked for this. D refused for reasons of principle, which I agreed with, and the program ended up not being among her top choices, anyway. That’s not to say that it’s not a great program. It just wasn’t the best fit of her out of her acceptances, anyway, so we let it go. CAP21 was willing to take her into either program and was quite flexible, which is why I believe that, if they want you, they want you–in either program.)

Break a leg at your audition! Take deep breaths beforehand, then let your enthusiasm show!

Also: Look at the other schools on your list. Really research them, if you haven’t already. Ask yourself what you love about them. I bet you’ll find more schools that you think you’d love! It’s ok to have a few favorites, but try not to pin everything on one school. Try to enjoy each audition and meeting people at and discovering things about each of the schools on your list. I’ll bet you’ll be surprised at the number of places about which you’ll say, “I can picture myself there!”

@myloves thank you so much! Your advice is overwhelmingly helpful! I am so excited for auditions!
