<p>Denied. From the looks of it, I guess a lot of people wanted halls also! I got stuck with a triple in Sunset Village. I’m still debating if Open Transfer Night is still a good idea, especially after having moved and settled in to your place for two weeks, then moving again and meeting new roomates. I’m not sure if I want to go through all that hassle.</p>

<p>For anybody who’s had previous experience with Open Transfer Night, how many people usually participate in it? And in past Open Transfer Nights, what were the chances that a person who was looking for a hall (I ask considering that there’s quite a number of people making that request here) got it then?</p>
<p>Alot of the Triple in Resident Halls are actually oversold, and they cannot provide space for students at the moment. Best bet is to wait for the Open Transfter Night…</p>
<p>As far as your chance for success at Open Transfter night, it’s hard to estimate especially since past years seem to have been random. It’s all up to whether or not students that are in the Res Halls want another building/room type. Amongst this economic crisis, it’s going to be even tougher finding students who desire to opt-out of the Triple Residential Halls.</p>
<p>So far on these thread I have yet to see someone who has gotten ACCEPTED.</p>
<p>Bad economy + freshman overpopulation = lack of cheap residence halls.</p>
<p>@hermaphrodite I think I said this before, but my change request got accepted. I got moved from hedrick summit to rieber terrace, and my friend got moved from rieber vista/terrace to de neve. So these were plaza to plaza moves, not plaza to hall like so many people seem to want.
Good luck during open transfer night everyone! There HAS to be people out there in halls who’d rather be in plazas/etc. :)</p>
<p>I think since Sproul and Reiber are renovated and cheaper maybe more upperclassmen opted for halls leaving less room for freshmen.</p>

<p>Well this sucks. UCLA housing defrauded me. They just admitted that they oversold housing even though when they were telling me to commit to signing the contract to file a CAR, they told me they did not oversell, and now they’re playing the legal “sue me if you can” game. I’m pretty sure lying to someone about the product you’re selling to get them to buy it is considered fraud at least.</p>

<p>Now they’re telling me I should be able to live for 9 months without eating, since apparently an apartment is cheaper than a dorm and I said I needed to change for financial reasons. It obviously has nothing to do with the fact that food costs time and money. UCLA housing is completely incompetent.</p>
