Career/Educational Paths into physics (QUARKY puns are welcome)

Hello Physics community,

I am an incoming high school junior who has recently been introduced into the world of physics through summer studying. I enjoy learning about things that absolutely confuse me and make me reconsider what I believe in. In the span of a few months, physics has done just that, introduced me to new phenomena and made me so confused, I love it. Before I had ambitions of joining the medical field, but I am slowly being "seduced by physics" (The truth behind that scares me). I am looking for advice on what educational/career paths there are in the field of physics. If someone is/was in the same boat, I would gladly appreciate advice, comments, inhibitions, and hopefully learn more about a topic I am quickly getting a grasp on.

Due to their ability to think mathematically, physics graduates can more easily find work in some other areas (e.g. finance, computers) than some other science graduates. But these jobs are obviously not physics jobs like physics research or teaching physics to high school or college students.

Thank you! I didn’t realize how many jobs stem from a physics degree.
