My son and I visited Oxy over spring break. We came away very impressed by the beauty of the campus and the friendliness of the students we encountered.
Is there a current or former student who can comment on the level and quality of career support Oxy students receive? Also, are there any available numbers on percent employed or in graduate school 6 months after graduation?
Thanks in advance!

As Oxy grad 89’, recently I visited my old college with my son who is a 11th grader, yes, it does have Career support center, and also separate advisers fro Pre-Health careers, Pre-Law, Pre- MBA, etc…
My understanding is that all freshman will get assigned to a faculty as his/her adviser…and during the spring semester of sophomore year, once the students declared his/her majors, then the adviser get changed to some faculty from that Major dept. As far as the quality, I remembered it was like an open door policy or these advisers have regular office hours for students to sign up, and that these professors and advisers were always very helpful to the students. And in the course of 3-4 years, the students and the faculties do really get to know each other well. In addition, the students can also sought out these Pre-Career advisers, as early as freshman, starting bonding and use their resources, so by the time to apply to graduate schools or sending resumes off to various corporate companies, these advisers can write detailed cover letters for the students applications…
As far as placement after graduation for employment or in graduate schools ( Law, Medical , MBA ), I think one can each Pre-career offices for the latest stats…
Hopefully that helps…
