Carleton--no crew

My son is applying to a number of schools with club rowing programs that meet his academic goals. These include Bowdoin, U of Chicago, Haverford, William & Mary, etc. Rowing is important to him but not a be all-end all. His college counselor has encouraged him to consider Carleton as well but he's a little worried about not having a sport that he can participate in. Can anyone comment? I don't know much about Carleton culture.

Time to branch out, I guess. Go out for ultimate. Several teams of varying skill and commitment are on campus. And there are a plethora of IM sports and PE classes to keep him busy.

Has he considered broomball?

he hasn’t considered anything because right now all he does is row and school. But Carleton is interesting as a school and he’s definitely open to new experiences. What is broomball–or does the name say it all?

^^Yes, the name says it all. Sort of like ice hockey with boots instead of skates, a broom instead of a stick, and a ball instead of a puck. Lots of fun!!
