I accidentally applied to three colleges when the rules stated to only apply to one. Would this be an issue?

They’ll only consider your first choice.

so the decision come out on the 12th now? O.O…

that’s when it came out last year :3.

the fact the ed rate is lower than the rd rate is somewhat worrying haha o_o

haha yea i thought that was funny too, but i found out a meeting cmu had at my school that it’s because the applicants for ed are usually less qualified

@ilikespaghetti the same thing happened to me so i wouldn’t worry about it

i always thought ed would be less qualified XD

but i can see how an insane amount of people who would rather go to mit or caltech would apply to cmu rd as a “safety”. hence, the higher acceptance rate

9 more days guys ahh if i don’t get in i’m not sure what i’m going to do with all my cmu apparel :c

spaghetti, if you pore over old threads over past years, you’ll find there is no rhyme nor reason to that phrase on the page, when it changes, what it says, etc. I know it’s stressful waiting, but trying to interpret something from that page is impossible (except when it says accepted/waitlisted/denied).

The Ed rate is lower because CMU offers Full Financial Aid during ED only. So because CMU has limited funds and not unlimited like the some other schools, it has to be very careful on how many they accept during ED.

So are we supposed to hear back on the 12th by mail?

Where are you guys applying ED from? It would be great to
get to know some of the potential students!

north carolina

california c:
and i believe its the 12th - 15th online, but we’ll see :)

the wait is killing me… hopefully its worth it

new york here

and yea I think we’ll only get our results early if we’re lucky

That’s exciting! I’m applying from the PA
I called the admissions office today and she was
saying that decisions could be released anytime
from today to the 15th

im 90% sure i’m rejected but that sliver of hope is giving me a serious case of senioritis :c . i hope we get them early because i need to start working again xD

Loopyz…I can completely relate to that. I kept thinking
that if I don’t get in its going to be so hard to write
those other applications. I’ve also been racking up absences…:(

i know right? ;-; .and i have acts this weekend but i haven’t studied at all because i keep thinking “well, IF i get in it’s pointless” . i dont even know what the act looks like t-t

Woah… so the decisions may come out soon??? Yeee.
What programs did you guys apply to?

Wow…haha I can’t even fathom the idea of having to
take another standardized test! Good luck

And I applied to the Mellon College of Science and
College of Humanities and Social Sciences to double
major in bio and psych
