Carnegie Mellon graduate school

Hello,

I will be asking you what are chances are of getting into graduate school based on my stats but I have a problem with my two GPA’s, as you will read.

School: University of California-Riverside (2002-2008)

BA Economics 2.5/4.0 scale (2002-2006)

BA Mathematics 3.7/4.0 scale (2006-2008) Also a Minor: Statistics 3.7/4.0

Research with a business professor who specializes in mathematical finance

Senior Thesis: Stochastic Processes

3 strong reccs from 2 math professors and 1 econ professor. All 3 clearly indicate they are aware of my GPA’s and stress that I am still a strong candidate for the program.

Essay topic: Spent 1 month in India studying with collegues of the Dalai Lama. This changed my life as evidenced in my GPA’s.

2 internships: First, as an entrepreneur starting and running a painting business. Second, an associate at Merril Lynch.

I am shooting for the Masters program in Computational Finance. What do you think???

You might have a better chance of getting answers asking in the graduate school forum than in the CMU one.
