Carnegie Mellon Summer Programs for Diversity

could you share with us what you said in the email that convinced them to give you the info?

I was just like “Hello, my name is QuantumLipids and I applied to… I would like to know about the status of my application.”

@ nil desperandum: i was talking to ummm when i said the nj thing cuz he/she is in ny so we will get it 2gether but wow you’re in PA! I feel your frustration

Why they can’t just tell you at the phone?
People are waiting and most of them need to arrange something else for the summer no matter accepted or not.
CMU admission office is kind of weird. The guy at info session said they don’t have regional rep., they don’t re-calculate your GPA … (a boy sit next to me was so happy, in his school, 87 is A).

@March10success2

I feel you - I have to sign up for dual enrollment summer classes this (or at latest next) week, so I really need to know if I got accepted or not. It makes it very hard to arrange things, as CMU is my top choice.

I got a package from CMU today - alas it was only an admissions packet. Oh, how they tease me.

ya @quantumlogic and march10success2
i ttly know wat u guys mean
cuz where the deadline to signup for college courses near me is literally this week so
i need to know asap to decide
cuz like quantum said this would be a priority

I got a large packet with my name on it. I was excited!
Then I saw that it was from Emory. I hate Emory right now. haha

I have a feeling they base the admission on GPAs.
QuantumLipids what was you GPA.

It better come tmrw. If its not home by the time i get back from my ap test i will flip out…

I’ve heard a lot of it has to do with essays…which is not good for me. :(

@5pencer me too! my essays and recommendations…are quite…-_-

The decision probably wasn’t based mostly on GPA/test scores. My unweighted GPA is like 3.98 or something. It’s probably based more on essays/recommendations/URM status, I think.

I mean my recs aren’t bad, but I’m not great at writing essays…so that could’ve messed me up.

i also called them and they wouldn’t tell me :frowning: so I think we should tell each other more about ourselves, seeing as we’re stuck in this together.

@blugblug tell more about ourselves how??
